Silfispa every night lights Florence, a city where light, essential element of the urban style, compares with a unique patrimony of art and culture.

Pubblic Illumination
The whole grid of the pubblic Florentine Council illumination is based, (to the 31st of December 2003) on 37034 light points , with the use of low cost and high rendering luminous lamps.

The ignition system of the implants are located near the central Silfispa in via della Robbia 47 and is set from a "schedule that switches on and off the electric lights". As always the scene goes through at dusk: at the slow set of the sun, the sky changes coulor until it becomes completely dark, the night appears and a set of switches turns on the lights of Florence.

Traffic lights and combined sistems for the mobility
The Urban mobility, with the increase of city traffic, could be no longer conceived without the functional and technological aid, that the implants of traffic lights adjustments, management and informative installations offer.

The Silfispa is assigned to upkeep the entire semaphoric grid of Florences Council , including implants for the variable messagistica and small rechargeble coulumns for the electric vehicules.

A grid at the moment established on 286 implants and many more semaphoric regulators with 3386 lanterns and more than 10000 lamps added to other 14 panels with changeble message.

Information service on the road conditions
In the business logic on territory, for the city service, the Silfispa cures, with a pubblic door opened to citizens , the management of the informative sistem that provides informations on the alterations of pubblic land and providments on the circulation, curing and following the inmission in the civic grid of the florentine Council.


TIME SCHEDULE FOR THE STARTING AND EXTINCTION OF THE ELECTRIC LAMPS
COUNCIL OF FLORENCE PUBBLIC ILLUMINATION WARNINGS

The ignition and shut down of the electric lamps are managed by the following time table based on the medium local time.
The lamps are classified on two categories: permanent and variable.
The permanent lamps are recognized by the letter P, the variable ones from the letter V.
The lamps of the P category, are permanently turned on every night and for all their present time duration.
Meanwhile the lamps of the V class must be switched on at the established time on the present schedule and turned off at 12:15 a.m after midnight.
